Apprentice/Journeyman Crane Operator

Con-Tech General Contractors is looking to add a journeyperson apprentice Crane Operator to our growing company.  This candidate will be a part of an effective construction team that successfully completes projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable codes while maintaining high quality, safe and effective operation of various pieces of equipment and a safe workplace.  Responsibilities:

  • Participates in routine fueling and maintenance.
  • Set up, operation of, and tear down of crane on site.
  • Execute lifts from routine to highly complex and extra-heavy lifts.
  • Interpret load charts including understanding the correct meaning of all notes and warnings and being able to calculate or determine the crane's actual net capacity for every possible configuration of the machine.
  • Complete and maintain accurate hours of service records, safety reports, and other work done on the crane while in the field.
  • General maintenance of the crane, as required.
  • May perform other related duties as required.

 Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of crane experience preferred.
  • Coordination and manual dexterity
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments
  • Provincial or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Mobile Crane ticket, or actively enrolled in apprenticeship program.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Valid 1A driver’s license an asset
