At over 21,000 square feet, this project consisted of warehousing space, service bays, offices and a large customer focused lounge area. As Value Tire’s second Saskatoon site, the owners wanted maximum exposure on the busy north end intersection of Marquis Drive and Burron Avenue. The angled design of the facade lends itself to maximizing curb appeal.
Our design team worked closely with the Owner to produce a final building that was a strong combination of space efficiency, aesthetics and quality. Value Tire opened their new location in June of 2017.
"Other builders said they could build our new shop and gave us a quote. Con-Tech went further, providing some very creative ideas at similar costs. This type of outside the box thinking made Con-Tech the builders for us."
Gordon den Brok, Owner of Value Tire (Saskatoon) Ltd.
A 32,000 square foot building supplies warehouse with offices and a large two story show room area. The building has a unique appearance and feel, utilizing exposed structural steel as the backdrop for the warm tones of natural fir and reclaimed brick. Security Building Supplies has been serving Saskatchewan since 1967 and Con-Tech is proud to have worked with the ownership group to create a one of a kind design build project.
"They cared about the build as much as we did. It's not something you'd expect, but it sure made a difference! Their attention to detail truly set them apart. A perfect blend of function an design."
Jay Faford, Executive VP, West Four Group of Companies
CP Distributors is a 32,000 square foot building with 9,000 square feet of two story office area. The building exterior and office areas are filled with modern design details, a result of teaming with a local architect for the design of the building, and the owner supplying all of their own doors, hardware and specialties. The building utilizes open web mainframes throughout to give the ceilings a much more open feel and brighter warehouse area.
A 20,000 square foot state of the art auto body repair facility located on 33rd Street in Saskatoon. The owners vision of maximizing efficiency in the way his shop operates was echoed in the construction of this project. A very tight construction site on a busy street provided for some interesting project challenges, but our team was able to design, build and handover this project in less than a year.
"The build quality of the building is superb. The design team incorporated all of our demands along with numerous extra touches that made a real difference"
Raj Kavia, Owner, Kavia Auto Body
This project was completed in late 2014 where Con-Tech was responsible for the physical building structure design, grade beam and metal erection and roof install. This project created a very functional and fashionable office space for EngComp and is a welcome addition to the growing Holiday Park industrial area.
This 12,500 square foot project at 4003 Burron Avenue is the home of Noremac Industries. The owner wanted his building to stand out on a street of pre-engineered buildings with stucco exteriors and decided to utilize the product with what he’s built his business on…concrete. Our design and construction teams were able to marry the Varco Pruden building system with cast in place concrete walls and finish it off with a large structural silicon glazed curtain wall which highlights the modern industrial interior.
This project began when Parr's owner approached Con-Tech for some ideas on how to freshen up the exterior of their building. Parr Auto Body is one of the top rated auto body shops in the city and they wanted the appearance of their building to reflect that. Our in-house design team was able to provide several options that would enhance the exterior appearance while remaining budget conscious. Parr's chosen design provided them with a lot more curb appeal and this project is a great example of what can be done to enhance the appearance of an aging building. Con-Tech provided exterior design and construction which included new standing seam metal roofing (no exposed fasteners) installed over the existing metal roof, which was all completed with minimal impact on the daily business activity in the busy shop.
Completed in June 2015, Con-Tech partnered with BlueScope Construction in the construction of the Bayer Crop Science – Wheat Breeding station 20 minutes south of Saskatoon in the Pike Lake area. This project consisted of 2 Varco Pruden buildings and full site development. The building with the attached dust collection system is the wheat breeding center while the second building is for housing the agricultural equipment required for seeding and harvesting. This project was started in September 2014 and was fully completed in 10 months.
"Having performed an on-site project management role with Bluescope Construction in 12 countries and in 46 states, I have told my own management staff and the managers with Con-Tech that truly they are the most capable and professional team I have ever gotten to work with."
Linn Field, Bluescope Construction
This project was completed in 2006 and is still an excellent showcase of the flexibility of designing multipurpose facilities with pre-engineered steel. The Lakeview Church has a theater space, classrooms, childcare spaces, office and a grand entrance foyer.
Completed in November 2014 this project was built for a local developer as an investment property. The project was the winner of the Varco Pruden 2015 Hall of Fame Best in Category Award for Design and Craftsmanship. This project is great at showing that a pre-engineered steel building doesn’t have to look like a metal box.
