88 King Street was a 31,646 square foot pre-engineered building for the City of Saskatoon. The purpose of the building is to store equipment used for various different applications in the months that they are not being utilized. The project was a publicly tendered design-build and was completed in winter conditions. The project also featured a granular interior per the clients request, installation of a new fire hydrant with connections to the main water line, and chain-link fence to fully enclose the site. Con-Tech’s in house design team was a huge factor in being able to accommodate the owners aggressive schedule while still complying to the 2017 National Energy Code of Canada and complying with COVID-19 work restrictions at the time. The building envelope, concrete foundations and slabs, steel erection, and metal cladding were all completed by employees.
