Completed in June 2015,Con-Tech partnered with BlueScope Construction in the construction of the  Bayer Crop Science – Wheat Breeding station. This project was a challenge due to its aggressive schedule and wide scope.  The project consisted of two separate buildings with a total square footage of over 21,000 square feet.  It was composed of an equipment storage facility with repair and maintenance areas with office areas, washrooms and chemical storage areas. The other larger building consisted of various laboratories required for their proprietary methods of operation, as well offices, conference rooms and employee lunch and washroom areas.  The project began with an open field and within a year Bayer’s wheat breeding station was operational.  The metal buildings were erected in the winter months, and the assembly of a steeper sloped metal roof in frosty conditions presented both safety hazards and assembly challenges.  Our safety team and field operations staff devised solutions to overcome the challenges and keep the schedule on track, and on time. Con-Tech crews performed concrete, steel erection, cladding and carpentry scopes, enabling completion as scheduled.

“Having performed an on-site project management role with BlueScope Construction in 12 countries and in 46 states, I have told my own management staff and the managers with Con-Tech that truly they are the most capable and professional team I have ever gotten to work with.”
