The Chief Mistawasis School Renovation & Addition project was a comprehensive upgrade to the existing educational facility that had not undergone significant improvements since its original construction in the 1990s. The project combined a full interior renovation with a targeted addition to enhance both functionality and long-term operational reliability for the community. The addition included a two-storey gym expansion with a pre-cast concrete spectator mezzanine, storage areas, and a dedicated standby generator building.

Within the existing school, work included reconfiguration of the commercial kitchen and common areas, along with complete upgrades to classrooms, offices, finishes, and building systems. Structural modifications and integration of new and existing systems required careful coordination throughout. The project was delivered on a compressed 12-month schedule in an isolated setting, requiring detailed planning, efficient sequencing, and strategic use of self-performed work to maintain progress and meet project milestones.
