Kavia Auto Body’s new building is located along a busy street on the edge of downtown. The build site was adjacent to a residential neighborhood, highly visible, and very congested- creating a major challenge in the storage of materials and mobility of equipment. Management of the site traffic, security for the project, and safety of the public were handled by the site superintendent with the help of our safety management team.  The project consisted of a state-of-the-art shop space for the auto body repair facility with highly specialized equipment required to keep Kavia at the leading edge of the industry.  Spray booths, prep booths, wash booths, specialized welding bays, and a mechanical system capable of exchanging all of the air in the shop area every 40 minutes meant coordination of several third-party commissioning agents. All of this combined with a high-end reception, offices, meeting rooms and employee lounge areas make this project one of the most all-encompassing in Con-Tech’s history. The building envelope, concrete foundations and slabs, steel erection, metal cladding and exterior and interior carpentry were all completed by employees.
